Sleek Look At The Motorola H790 Bluetooth Headset
By: Edward Jackson (Senior Editor)
Seems everywhere you look nowadays, fewer people have a phone to their ear. Here at MRT, we highly recommend and aplaud the use of bluetooth headsets. In our neverending drive to bring you the latest in “safety-talk” as we call it, we’re taking a closer look at one of the industry giant’s hottest offerings. Introducing Motorola’s H790. Does it make our Reality Grade? Read on for a taste of our review.
Complimenting your style while taking crystal clear? What a concept! Hands free calls with one of Motorola’s newest Bluetooth headsets, the Motorola H790, does exactly that. This sleekly designed accessory delivers an outstanding audio experience on a dual microphone headset, and is as easy to use as it is to wear. As Motorola’s thinnest dual-microphone headset to date, it s a balance between style, sensibility and inspiring technology to get you noticed. The H790 delivers very good call quality using Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, which suppresses background noise for pure sounding calls, so you can hear and be heard even in noisy environments. Whether you’re performing tasks around the house, running errands, or traveling. You’ll be able to carry on your conversation in clear call quality. Check out some of the photos I took.
The Motorola H790 looks and feels solid, yet it is lightweight and sports a thin profile that is very attractive as it is comfortable. Setup is relatively easy. You will become a headset master in no time with the help of audible voice prompts that instruct you on pairing the headset, checking battery life and connecting. All you gotta do is put it on and setup is a prompt away. In addition, voice prompts also alert you when mute is on or off to avoid confusion (among other things), and makes multiple phone pairing a breeze so you can take hands free calls from several phones you carry. If you’re like me, you hate having to wait up to 2 hrs for anything to charge. With this, you can be ready to go in minutes using the Rapid Charger (my favorite feature) to generate 2.5 hours of power in just 15 minutes. Wait another 15 and you got around 5 hrs of talk time. I paired this beauty with the Blackberry Storm 2 and the Nokia N900. Walking around indoors, the sound quality was great on both ends, with people on the other line even asking if I was on a headset because it sounded so clear. Although not the best with wind noise, it stood up pretty well to most outside noises which made calls comfortable as well. Here are a few more close-ups.

Reality Grade:
I actually enjoyed the Motorola H790. The sleek and thin design lends a very modern feel to this device. I also got a lot of compliments from people at work about how nice it looks, which is always a plus. It was comfortable to wear and didn’t hurt my ear even after 5 hrs of continous wear. It pairs easily, sounds clear as most of the better bluetooth headsets can be..and the $79 price is affordable enough for quality this good. Overall, I’d say Motorola did pretty good on the H790. In fact, I’m thinking about purchasing a few to give out to my family as holiday stocking stuffers.
