Apple Announces Media Event, Mass Speculation Ensues!

Once again Apple has the tech world buzzing with the announcement of its October 20th media event. The event, titled “Back to the Mac” has everyone pining to know what Steve Jobs has under his hat. Absolutely no information has been released about this event, other than the events pending arrival. So naturally this has sparked a frenzy of speculation.
The announcement, shown above, features a Lion peeking out from behind the Apple logo. What could this mean other than new OS! Seems rather sudden, considering how popular the Mac OSX Snow Leopard still is. The name, “Back to the Mac” also suggests that the focus will not be on the uber popular iPad and iPod lineup, but rather some much needed updates to the desktop and laptop line.
Among the more popular rumors on the web are the pending release of an updated Macbook Air, and a new line up of software to update or even replace the iLife suite. Whatever the press conference holds, one thing is quite certain, being this close to the holiday buying season Apple is likely to release another must have piece of tech. Being the third one in a single year, Steve Jobs will have a Darth Vader like choke hold on the tech gift market.
What do you think the next big announcement from Apple will hold?
